Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2025. Please review this policy carefully.
1. Introduction
Welcome to ToteTag! We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. By using ToteTag, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
ToteTag is designed to be simple and prioritize your privacy. We collect the following information:
- Tote Information: When you set up a tote, we store the name, contents description, and optionally, a photo you provide for that tote. This information is associated with a unique, anonymous identifier embedded in the QR code.
- No Personal User Accounts: We do not require user registration or collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the core functionality of the app.
- Usage Data (Future): We may in the future collect anonymous usage data to improve our services, such as feature usage frequency. This data will be aggregated and anonymized.
3. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used solely to:
- Provide and maintain the ToteTag service (allowing you to store and retrieve tote information).
- Improve and optimize the application.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your tote information to third parties.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information stored for your totes. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your tote data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
The QR codes themselves contain a unique identifier. Physical security of your QR codes is your responsibility.
5. Data Retention
We will retain the information associated with your totes as long as the corresponding QR codes are in use or until we are required to delete it by law. Since there are no user accounts, specific data deletion requests tied to an individual are not currently feasible through an automated process. We may periodically review and remove data associated with inactive QR codes if such a determination can be made.
6. Children's Privacy
ToteTag is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
